The 2010/11 Challenge is now open to any school in the U.K.

What are the age ranges?
There are three age ranges in the 2010/11 Challenge, as shown below (all as at 30th September 2010):
Age Range 1: Any child of Primary School age (excluding P7 in Scotland)
Age Range 2: Any child in years 7, 8 and 9, P7, S1 and S2
Age Range 3: Any child in years 10 and 11, S3 and S4

How does it work?
A participating school will need to purchase the required software, direct from Cambridgeshire Software House, (promotional copies do not qualify to take part) and this will be supplied at special 'Challenge' discounted rates. In return for being able to purchase the software at the discounted price, schools will be expected to submit an entry into the Challenge i.e. should a school not send an entry, the organisers reserve the right to invoice the school for the difference between the discounted price and the full published price of the software. Contact info@mathschallenge.org.uk for details.

Each participating school will run a series of internal races to find its own winner who will then take part in a Regional Heat, based on Local Authority boundaries, via email. All Regional Heat winners will then race in a knockout round via email to determine which schools are invited to take part in the National Final. As mentioned, the Heats will be organised and run by us using email, unless an LA/CLC organises it's own event locally.

The 2010/11 Challenge will be based on Version 12 of the 'Cars Maths in Motion' software, published in May 2010. The National Final will be held at the Heritage Motor Centre, Gaydon, Warwickshire on 30th June 2011.
