    Paul Richardson Award for Endeavour

Today I had the immense privilege of attending Roundhay St. John’s Primary school to present Year 6 pupil Alex Tamlyn with the Paul Richardson Award for Endeavour.

The award was set up early in 2017 to celebrate the life of Paul Richardson who sadly passed away in October 2016.

Nominations were invited to be sent by teachers for pupils who the Challenge has made a personal impact during their participation.

Alex was chosen by his teacher for showing real hard work and determination to better his maths skills using Maths in Motion as a basis. His maths levels have increased this year as has his confidence with his peers.

In a whole school assembly I presented Alex with the Trophy that school will keep for 1 year, engraved with Alex’ name plus a Goblet for the school and one for Alex to keep permanently along with an iTunes voucher.

We are extremely grateful to Martin Sandercombe, Joe Parker and Richard Wright for providing us with such a wonderful memorial to Paul’s life.

We are also thrilled that Roundhay have qualified for the final and look forward to seeing them at Gaydon.
